Most of us read a book and then put it on a shelf or in a box to take up space. Well, instead, we hope you will consider donating your books, DVDs and CDs to the Friends to help us raise money for the library. We'll help your books find a good home and, at the same time, help make our community library an even better facility. To donate books, please drop them in one of the large bins next to the Wisner Center by the library. If you have an estate collection of potentially valuable books, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a meeting to discuss the collection.
If you would like to volunteer a couple hours per week to help the Friends in their mission to support the library, visit our Volunteer page for more information.
When you become a member of the Friends, you are, in effect, donating to support our mission. But, we still welcome independent donations if you would like to do a little more to help. You can make a contribution directly through one of the Board members at a Friends-sponsored event or when you renew your membership..
If you shop at AmazonSmile, they will donate 0.5% of your eligible purchases to the Friends at no additional cost to you. That's not a lot. But, if a lot of people do it, it can make a difference over time. And, it doesn't cost you a thing.
The products, prices and services are the same on the amazon.com and smile.amazon.com site. The only difference is that you can earmark a portion of your purchase for donation to a specific charity on smile.amazon.com.
If you're already signed up to support another charity on AmazanSmile, it's easy to switch.
Remember, Amazon will only donate 0.5% if you shop on the smile.amazon.com site. It's easy to forget, so it's a good idea to bookmark the site for easier access when you're ready to shop.
